![]() Here is what the full image looks like. I'm working on bringing back the silver that I painted with metallic ink in the clouds back into the jpeg. I caught it with my cell phone, but I'm hoping to capture it if the art is photographed rather than scanned. Also bringing up the purple brought purple into the clouds when I color adjusted. I will play in PhotoShop today to mask the areas for color adjustments that match more closely to the art. Copyright © Laura J. Holman 2013. All Rights Reserved.

![]() Recently I experienced a situation that caused me deep heartache. I felt like the crying wouldn't stop, but thankfully it did, and I moved onto the next phase of acceptance. This piece was inspired by how I felt, and yet as hurt as I was emotionally, I couldn't quite catch the darkness in this piece. I think my eternal optimism shines through no matter how grey the clouds. This is just a part of the art. It was done on Ampersand's Aquabord in mixed media. 9" x 12" ![]() Besides my fine art, I really love designing cards. It keeps my graphic design and photoshop skills sharpened. All of my art is hand drawn. I don't personally care for digital art, but I love what I can do with my hand drawn art in Photoshop. Repeat patterns, playing with type faces, cleaning up my art, correcting colors.... these are some of the things that make creating traditional art so much easier now than how things were done years ago. This is one of my best selling cards for Mother's Day. Available on my Card Gnome store complete with a message as sweet as the sugar in this teacup. |
